About us.
Our Structure
The Anna Wearne Trust operates in two different ways:
It directly makes grants of up to $1000 directly to recipients
It makes recommendations to the Australian Community Foundation (ACF) about the making of grants from the Anna Wearne Fund, a sub-fund of the ACF. These grants are generally up to $1000 and are made to recipients via charitable entities endorsed as deductible gift recipients (DGRs). All grants made from the Anna Wearne Fund are subject to review and approval by the trustees of the ACF. We thank the ACF for its ongoing support.
A small gesture can make a great impact.
-
Dream it.
We believe that our grants can be small but our impact can be great.
Sometimes young people need a practical or financial leg up. Other times they just need to be believed in.
-
Build it.
A typical grant is to students who need a laptop to support them completing their VCE and do not have financial stability or family support. We believe that such small grants create huge opportunities in the lives of many young people.
-
Grow it.
We have also provided long term scholarships for students and supported larger projects that can impact a whole community such as after school programs, disenchanted youth programs and First Nations peoples advancement.
Making a difference.
At the Anna Wearne Trust, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. One of the ways we achieve this is through our various types of grants.
We are proud to support individuals in need by providing small grants to assist with their schooling expenses, such as acquiring laptops, attending classes, acquiring necessary equipment, or covering transportation costs.
Our trust offers program grants, which provide funding to organisations and projects that align with our aims and objectives. These grants support initiatives that aim to improve education, the advancement of First Nations peoples, support young people in leadership roles, support and uphold the rights of women and their respect in all fields.
We also provide scholarship grants that help deserving individuals pursue their educational aspirations.
Whatever the type of grant, our trust aims to ensure that the funds are utilised to create lasting change and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we support.
